Andrew owned a restuarant in Norway. When he first came to the US he took up
that trade. Eventually he became a Captain on a boat called the Lumber Lady,
which did the Coos Bay to San Francisco run, bringing lumber to San Francisco.
According to my families Aural tradition:
Olav Laupsa, changed his name to Andrew (some times as Ole) Olson after he moved
and settled in San Francisco. He was born in 1873, and died 1939. He married
Rakel Tistedal (who was called Rachel Annette Hanson in the US) in
Fredrikstad, Norway. Olav ran a restaurant in Fredrikstad. The story in
my family is that Rakel was Swedish... When Olav, his wife and children went
to America and he took up the previous job as a Restaurant owner, later
he went into Lumber. This is a story I do not have much information about.
