I have a number of photos that are from
the mid to late 1800's and early to mid 1900's. There are several categories:
People and Places, just People and just Places. Many of
the people photos are Scandinavian or Scandinavian relations who are
in different parts of the world like Buenos Aires, Oslo, Bergen, Chiristiana
Sweden etc. Alas I have no names for either places or faces. I
will endeavor to give as much back ground information as I can per set
of photos, who previously owned them or where I got them or where I
think the pictures may have been taken. |
Out of necessity and large quantities
of Scandinavian related pictures, I scanned as many at a time as possible
- roughly 9 per page. Most of these are tin types and in good
condition, so the picture quality is fair. I accidentally cut a few
peoples heads off, but put them in the next batch of photos. |
Most of the Places I
believe to be in the California foot hills or California Mountains,
or in one case possibly Coos Bay local of Oregon. |
My goal, as some one who is
interested in preservation of history and passing on historical data,
is to be able to identify these photos. |
